The past year and a half brought on more personal reflection than ever before. Tough times either “make you or break you”. After getting through those tough days, I find myself in the process of self-growth and finding who I really am. Step 1. Transform my surroundings into a peaceful environment that would help promote my growth.

I had stayed at an Airbnb in 2022 for one single night. All alone. The goal was to take this time to break down my life into categories and find solutions to fix what I had hoped was the problem. Turns out I would leave that day with no solid solution. But while on my stay there, I had so much peace and clear minded thinking. Something I had not experienced in so long. I took the style of this Airbnb as inspiration to my new home design. But quickly that transformed into something much different. The final result is best described as farmhouse glam… with touches of pink in every space.

I was able to revamp many pieces from my previous western styled home. Color tones of beige, cream and soft pink paints were the solution to starting over completely. If you find yourself in a rut when it comes to home design, your current style is not fitting to your personality, or you are looking to revamp on a budget. Follow along as I break down each room and tips on transforming current decor into a completely new look. You do not have to be an artist or creative to paint! You also do not have to have a large budget to restyle your home. Transformation is possible for little to nothing! In fact, I started revamping my bedroom on a budget of $0 at the age of 10. I rearranged my bedroom and made my own decor to fit different phases of life that I entered. Decorating has been a passion of mine as long as I can remember. So being an adult and not having my decor fit my style was crazy. Younger me did not deserve that I grew up and settled for a home that didn’t fit my style and who I am. She would be so disappointed. But not anymore!

Aside from revamping decor and stalking the Dollar General shelves. I did most of my shopping at Amazon, The Hico Mercantile and Hobby Lobby. The first step is deciding if you need a fresh new look, or you are wanting to add some new touches to create a better flow to an existing space.

My home has had bare windows since the day I moved it. Once I finished the decorating process of my home. Something was missing. I was able to find the most beautiful curtains from a vendor and they truly completed this home transformation. When ordering wholesale, I had to get 8 packs the curtains. So these won’t last long but you can grab them here>> Home Collection | The Lace Cactus
My home has been decorated in a colorful, western style since I was 19. I am not western AT ALL. In fact, I have never even ridden a horse LOL. Western is just not ME. And in all honesty, Farmhouse glam is not really ME. But I’m not quite in the stage of growth to create that colorful, maximalist space just yet. Baby steps. But this style is very fitting to my current stage of life. Peaceful and inviting. But the unique touches of vintage linens, leopard statement pieces and quirky pieces like the ceramic elephant I found at a local estate sale; has been a doorway of allowing myself to decorate in a way that is ME. I call this freedom. But you have to give yourself that mental permission to become who you are supposed to be. That likely will not happen overnight. Self-reflection and tearing down the person you created to fit social norms is hard work. But becoming your true self is worth every ounce of discomfort you may experience in this journey. I believe creating a space based around who you really are, is an amazing start to that process. But, if decorating is not your thing or you see this blog and think “that style fits me perfectly”, I am here to help you make these visual dreams a reality!

This is my first ever blog. Stay tuned as I share so much more on decorating, life, mindset, family, business and growth.
